Chess

AIHR and HRCA are partnering to run a chess competition in conjunction with India Fest.

There are four sections available for children of all ages and abilities.

Junior Rookie (students in grades Pre-K through 5 with limited or no experience at chess tournaments, no US Chess Federation membership required)

Senior Rookie (students in grades 6-12 with limited or no experience at chess tournaments, no US Chess Federation membership required)

Novice (students in grades Pre-K through 12 with US Chess Federation memberships and ratings below 600)

Elite (students in grades Pre-K through 12 with US Chess Federation memberships and ratings 600 and up)

Trophies will be awarded to the top three players in each of these four sections. Trophies will be presented at IndiaFest.

Boards, sets, some clocks, and scoresheets are provided. Bring a chess clock if you own one. Bring something to write with. Parents, bring a camp chair if you are remaining on site.

AIHR cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize.

In all matters relating to a Competition, the decision of the judge(s) shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
